Frequently Asked Questions
GET IN TOUCHThe Restigouche season runs from roughly the second week of May through September 30. Early weeks bring the biggest fish, June and July offer steady runs plus grilse, and September adds a colored-up fall run with technical dry-fly fishing.
All Atlantic salmon, including grilse, are released. Fishing is fly-only, and your guides will handle licensing details and keep you on the right water.
Comfortable casting a two-handed or heavy single-hand rod helps, but guides work two anglers at a time and are happy to teach spey fundamentals. Plenty of first-time salmon anglers hook fish here every season.
Most guests fly into northern New Brunswick or the Quebec side of the border and drive to the lodge, or make the scenic drive from Maine or the Maritimes. The lodge will send full travel directions when you book.
Sea-run brook trout enter the river in spring and again in fall, a classic Maritime bonus while you swing for salmon.
