Trip Summary
The Restigouche is the stuff of Atlantic salmon legend, and Restigouche River Lodge sits in the heart of it with 3.5 miles of private, exclusive water beginning at the junction with Quebec's Matapedia River. This is classic big-river spey water, gin-clear and famous for producing 30-pound-plus salmon year after year, fished two guided sessions a day with two anglers per guide, wading fine-gravel pools or casting from the lodge's handcrafted Sharpe canoes. The all-inclusive American plan hosts up to 12 anglers across three guest camps, all double-occupancy rooms with private baths, with a chef preparing three meals a day and a main lodge lounge overlooking the river. Weekly and split-week packages run from the second week of May through September 30, from huge early fish in spring through grilse in late June to technical dry-fly sight fishing and a colored-up fall run, and every salmon including grilse is released to keep the fishery as strong as its reputation.

Lodging & Accommodations
Accommodations
The lodge hosts up to 12 anglers across three guest camps plus a main dining lodge. Highland (or Highland Camp) offers four single-occupancy bedrooms with custom white-cedar log furniture, queen beds, private baths and wet bars, plus a screened river-view veranda and a rod room with a heated drying closet. The renovated Head Camp has two double-occupancy rooms with private baths, a kitchenette, and a screened porch overlooking the Home Pool. McBrearty Camp has three rooms (two double, one single) with private baths at a lower pricing tier. All standard rates are based on double occupancy with a private bath for each room; single occupancy can sometimes be arranged. The spacious main lodge lounge frames panoramic river and mountain views with a fireplace and 24/7 coffee and tea.
Food
A chef prepares three meals daily on the American plan, described by the lodge as unmatched on the Gaspe Peninsula. The day is built around the fishing sessions: breakfast in the morning (roughly 7:00 to 8:30 AM), the main midday meal around 1:30 PM, and an evening meal after the night session. Non-alcoholic beverages are included; guests bring their own alcohol.
Connectivity
Wi-Fi is available at the lodge for guest convenience, and cell service is described as excellent (Verizon confirmed by the lodge). There is no cable television, by design, to preserve the wilderness lodge experience.
Target Species
Atlantic Salmon
Brook Trout
7-Day Itinerary
Each day is carefully planned to maximize your fishing success while experiencing the best of what this destination has to offer. Itineraries are flexible based on conditions and guest preferences.
Fly into a regional gateway such as Presque Isle, Maine (about 2.5 hours) or Bathurst, New Brunswick (about 1 hour 15 minutes, with lodge-arranged taxi roughly $330 round trip), or drive in; VIA Rail also serves Matapedia about 10 minutes away. Settle into your guest-camp room, meet your guides, and get set for a week on private water. US citizens need a valid passport.
On full days you fish two guided sessions, morning and evening, paired two anglers to a guide. Wade the fine-gravel pools or cast standing from a Sharpe canoe across the lodge's 3.5-plus miles of private water. Target big Atlantic salmon and grilse, all released, with chef-prepared meals and a river-view lounge between sessions.
A final morning session if your package allows, then depart for your gateway airport or the drive home.
