Description
The Thomas & Thomas Exocett Bluewater Fly Rod is a big game rod built for prolonged vertical fights with the largest fish in the ocean. The series has two three-piece 8'4" models: a 13/14wt for 500-600 grain lines and a 15/16wt for 600-750 grain lines. Both cast floating, intermediate, and sinking lines.
Blank
The Exocett Bluewater uses a progressive loading blank that combines proprietary carbon and S-glass layups in each section. A complex reinforcement strategy strengthens the critical areas that carry the load during long vertical fights. The progressive action profile keeps maximum pressure on the fish and relieves stress from the angler.
Guides
Guide placement is strategic, so the entire blank loads smoothly during the fight. The stripping guides are REC Recoil with underwraps, selected for durability.
Grip
The grip is a composite nose full wells with an IGFA legal length fighting butt. The foregrip is a textured synthetic EVA for comfort and a secure hold during long fights.
Rod Tube
The three-piece design stores in a 36 inch tube for easier travel.
