Description
Riversmith Standard Mount Locking Bolt Sets replace the hex bolts in a River Quiver Standard Mount with tamper-resistant bolts that only turn with the coded driver in the box. The reel box on a River Quiver already locks. This kit locks the mount itself, so the whole carrier cannot be unbolted from your rack with an ordinary wrench. Choose the set that matches your carrier and your bolt length.
How It Works
Each set swaps every mounting bolt on the Standard Mount brackets for a custom-molded security bolt. The matching driver is unique to the kit, like a wheel lock on a car. Keep the driver with your River Quiver keys and the carrier is secure in a hotel lot or at a trailhead overnight.
Which Set?
- 2-Banger Standard: 4 locking bolts, standard length
- 4-Banger Standard: 8 locking bolts, standard length
- 2-Banger Extended: 4 locking bolts, 1 inch longer
- 4-Banger Extended: 8 locking bolts, 1 inch longer
Choose Extended if your River Quiver is on a spacer kit or on oversized crossbars, that is, anywhere you already use Riversmith's Extended Bolts. Otherwise choose Standard.
Compatibility
Standard Mount only. The Quick Release Mount and LP T-Track Mount lock on their own.
Why We Like It
Riversmith's own line is that few thieves have the time and tools to unbolt a whole River Quiver, and that is true. But a 4-Banger with four rods and reels inside is a lot of money bolted to the roof, and this is a cheap fix for a sleepless night. Keep a small ratchet with the driver bit in the vehicle so you are not hunting for it in the field.
