Item Description:

Here is an original Payne 208L with two tips rated for a 7/8wt line. The rod has an uplocking screw-lock reel seat with the standard Payne Spanish cedar space. The grip is done is a Western style with slight soiling on the cork. There is a ring-style hook keeper as well. The wraps are a chestnut brown with red tippings. At the hook keeper they are chestnut tipped with red, yellow, and purple this pattern continues at the male ferrules as well. The perfection style stripping guide shows little wear. The heavy wire snake guides are also in good shape. The ferrules have the original oxidation as well. Both ferrule plugs are present. The varnish looks good with only a few scratches and one minor chip on the butt section. One tip is full length and straight while the other is down four inches with a replacement tip-top guide. Rod comes in the original tube bad and has the hang tag.
