Description

Scott changed the fly fishing industry for good in 1976 by introducing the first Scott G Series fly rods. The history of this moderate action series is truly iconic. Over 40 years later, the G Series has evolved with contemporary fly fishing and continues to encourage state-of-the-art medium action fly rod innovation. Scott's ability to create smooth flexing rods that combine presentation and power sets the G Series apart. The G Series is lighter, stronger, more flexible, and more advanced than ever before. The G Series has stood the test of time and has continued to redefine modern innovation. Avid dry fly anglers across the globe are taking note.

Blank

ReAct Technology - ReAct is Scott's proprietary technology for reducing vibrations and increasing recovery speed. It does this by combining their X-Core design with new materials and tapers. The result is a rod that is extremely high performing, yet retains the feel that we've come to expect from Scott.

Multi-Modulus Design - Scott's G Series Multi-Modulus blank design creates smoother rod flex and line recovery by varying fiber tensile modulus throughout the rod. This technology allows Scott to control stiffness and flexibility at every point along the rod blank. The result? Smooth, fine-tuned performance.

Fiberfuse, Arc, and Finish - The G Series is made with an advanced Fiberfuse resin that allows superior chemical bonding throughout the rod blank for a stronger fly rod design. Advanced Reinforced Carbon (Arc) adds to the rod's strength and reduces torque. The G Series is also made with hollow internal ferrule technology and a natural, unsanded finish to keep the rod insanely lightweight in hand.

Guides

Fuji SiC Stripping Guides w/Titanium Frame - The best rods start with the best components. Titanium guides are not only up to 65% lighter than stainless steel, they're also over 3 times stronger and totally saltwater safe. These guides are fitted with Silicon Carbide inserts that are diamond polished for reduced drag and improved casting performance.

Universal Snake Guides - Universal Snake guides add to the functionality and durability of the G Series. Universal guides feature radius feet, corrosion resistant design, and a self-lubricating finish to help fly line move effortlessly on the rod. Universal Snake guides also contribute to the rod's superior line control capabilities and fast line speeds.

Reel Seat

Uplocking w/Micarta Insert - The reel seat on the G Series is a testament to Scott craftsmanship. Black anodized aluminum and a Micarta insert compliment the rod blank well and provide aesthetic appeal and fishy functionality to the G Series. The reel seat keeps the fly rod light and durable.

Rod Tube

Aluminum Rod Tube - The G Series comes with the same ultra-durable aluminum rod tube that comes with all Scott Rods. It will protect the rod against even the meanest baggage handlers.

Warranty

Scott Lifetime Warranty - The Scott G Series, like all Scott fly rods, is covered by the Scott Lifetime Warranty, which covers the rod for the life of the original owner. As of July 2015, the cost of these repairs is $50 and the turnaround time is about 4 weeks. Rods must be registered within 30 days of purchase to qualify for the warranty.

Scott G-series

"Best rod i`ve ever had the pleasure of casting! If you like me, really enjoy a little bit of a medium and or slower rod you´re gonna love the scott g-series!!!you could hit a coffee cup at 60 feet all day with this rod!"

Scott GS 773-4

"The Scott GS 773-4 is perhaps best in class for this length and line weight. There are few mid 7-foot 3wts on the market that excel this little water fly rod. Paired with an SA Trout taper, this rod throws nice loops from right out of the tip until its range. It is ultra-light in hand and accurate as anything. Throwing a tight loop into cover with fly placement in tight spots is something the rod does with flying colors. It generates good line speed for a rod of this size, recovers superbly, and has excellent line/loop control. Scott fly rods are beautiful, this one has excellent cork and a sliding band reel seat."

scott g series 905-4

"An incredible dry fly rod. you can put a fly pretty much where ever you want to. I know this is a medium action rod, but it does just fine even in in moderate wind. All in all, just a fantastic fly rod."

A classic reborn

"I recently purchased a Scott GS884/4 from Trident, and it has been everything the countless reviewers on the internet have spoken of. I was surprised how versatile this rod is. I could fish midge emerges on 6x all the way to size 8 bugger on 4x. I have fished it in the wind, and have to say that for a 4wt it did quite well. I know that this can be said for a lot of rods, but this rod is pure magic. The amount of touch and the casting action of this rod reminds me of an updated version of the rods of old."

Scott G Series 9’ 6

"This rod is amazing. Incredibly smooth and great dry fly presentation. No problem with delicate casts 40 plus feet. The medium action has enough backbone for larger flies while still presenting very delicately. This is my go to dry rod when fishing to spooky fish and or gin waters. My rod set up: SGS 9’6, Galvan Torque 5, and SA Mastery Trout line. Good to go!"
