Description

The Scientific Anglers Stillwater Emerger Tip S2 Fly Line is a floating lake line with a short sinking tip. The 5.5' Sink 2 tip pulls flies just below the surface and anchors the line in wind. It is the Stillwater line for fishing near the surface on windy days.

Best For

Flies Just Under the Surface - The Sink 2 (2.0 ips) tip takes the leader and flies just below the film. The floating head and running line stay on top.

Windy Days - The sinking tip anchors the line in wind, so the flies keep fishing just under the surface.

Temperature / Conditions

SA rates the Stillwater series for cold to moderate fresh water. It is a lake and pond line for trout.

Taper / Weight / Design

The Stillwater Emerger Tip S2 is a weight-forward line with a 45' head and a 100' total length. SA overweights it by two line weights to carry multiple flies and long leaders and to make longer casts. The first 30' of the 5-weight weighs 185gr, the weight of a standard 7-weight. It comes in 5 through 8 weight.

5.5' Sink 2 Tip - The tip sinks at 2.0 ips. The head and running line float.

AST Plus - SA mixes its AST Plus slickness additive into the coating. The slicker surface shoots farther and holds up longer than a standard coating.

SA Line ID - The line is printed with "SA STLLWTR EMRGR WF X F S2" (X is the line weight). You can tell spools apart at a glance.

Welded Loops - Welded loops make leader and backing connections quick.
