Description
The Scientific Anglers Stillwater Clear Camo Intermediate Fly Line is a clear sinking lake line for stealthy, shallow presentations. A supple clear coating sinks at 2.0 ips around a camouflage core. It suits the stillwater angler fishing clear water where line visibility matters.
Best For
Shallow Sub-Surface Presentations - The line sinks at 2.0 ips. It takes flies under the surface and keeps them in the shallow water column.
Clear Water and Wary Fish - The clear coating and camouflage core make the line hard for fish to see. SA calls it the ultimate in stealth.
Temperature / Conditions
SA rates the Stillwater series for cold to moderate fresh water. It is a lake and pond line for trout.
Taper / Weight / Design
The Stillwater Clear Camo Intermediate is a weight-forward line with a 45' head and a 100' total length. SA overweights it by two line weights to carry multiple flies and long leaders and to make longer casts. The first 30' of the 5-weight weighs 185gr, the weight of a standard 7-weight. It comes in 5 through 8 weight.
Features
Clear Camo Coating - A supple, clear sinking coating (2.0 ips) covers a camouflage core.
Textured Hang Markers - Textured markers sit 10' and 20' from the tip. You can feel them on the retrieve and hold the flies in the hang before you lift.
AST Plus - SA mixes its AST Plus slickness additive into the coating. The slicker surface shoots farther and holds up longer than a standard coating.
SA Line ID - The line is printed with "SA STLLWTR CAMO WF X INT" (X is the line weight). You can tell spools apart at a glance.
Welded Loops - Welded loops make leader and backing connections quick.
