Description
The Riversmith River Quiver Extension Kit adds 12 inches to a standard River Quiver, taking its rod capacity from 10 feet 4 inches to 11 feet 4 inches. It is the way to carry a 10-foot-6 or 11-foot Euro nymphing rod, a switch rod, or a short two-hander without buying a second carrier. Choose 2-Banger or 4-Banger to match your River Quiver, in Silver, Black or Gunmetal.
How It Works
A standard River Quiver is two halves joined by a top and bottom coupler. Unbolt the couplers, separate the halves, slide the 12-inch extrusion in between, and couple it back together with the included second set of couplers. Riversmith puts installation at under ten minutes, and owners report about the same. The result is the same carrier Riversmith sells as the Euro River Quiver, which is a standard unit with this kit fitted.
Compatibility
- Fits the standard-length River Quiver. Order the width (2-Banger or 4-Banger) that matches yours.
- The extrusion is anodized to match Silver and Black carriers. Gunmetal is for the older Gunmetal River Quiver.
- A ShortCut River Quiver needs the extension modified to fit. Riversmith will build a ShortCut with an extension if you order them together.
- With the extension installed, the carrier is 11 feet 6 inches long. Check overhang and rack spacing on your vehicle.

Why We Like It
Riversmith built the Euro River Quiver in 2019 and then heard from owners of the standard carrier who had taken up Euro nymphing and did not want to buy a second one. This kit is the fix. For $89.99, a carrier you already own fits every rod you are likely to buy next, and it comes back out just as easily if you sell the rig.
