Description

Big rivers, especially those with anadromous fish, have a way of exposing weak links: sloppy anchors, hesitant deliveries, rods that fold when the cast or fish demands more. Redington’s Olympus series of rods was built with those realities in mind. Developed in the shadow of Washington’s Mt. Olympus, honed in the tributaries that flow off of the mountain, and tested against the demanding steelhead and salmon that call these waters home, the Olympus family brings fast-action performance, quick recovery, and rugged reliability to both switch and spey anglers chasing anadromous fish in serious water. Whether you’re working compact trout spey runs with a shorter switch rod or stepping into broad steelhead rivers with a full-length spey setup, the Olympus is designed to feel intuitive in hand and highly adaptable across modern two-handed techniques. From touch-and-go casts with Scandi systems to heavy Skagit heads and sustained anchor presentations, the blank delivers the kind of responsive loading and line control that opens the door to precise presentations and efficient casting under pressure. Finished in a rich Steelhead Green colorway inspired by the waters it was built to fish, the Olympus balances modern performance with a clean, purpose-driven aesthetic and is made in weights 3 through 9 across a wide range of lengths.

Blank
Nano Resin Fast-Action Blank Construction - At the heart of the Olympus series is Redington’s next-generation Nano Resin Technology, creating a blank that is lightweight, highly durable, and exceptionally responsive. The fast action loads efficiently while recovering quickly, producing tight loops, clean tracking, and strong line control across a wide range of casting and fly styles. Whether fishing compact switch rods on smaller rivers or full-length spey models for maximum reach and mending capability, the Olympus blank maintains the power needed to control large, aggressive fish without sacrificing feel or timing.

Guides
Chrome-Plated Stainless Steel Guides– Durable chrome-plated stainless guides maximize shootability while maintaining smooth line flow with modern shooting heads and running lines. Built to handle wet, cold, and demanding environments, the guide set is designed for smooth shooting and dependable performance season after season.

Reel Seat
Synthetic Dark Walnut Reel Seat with Laser-Etched Hardware – Olympus rods feature a freeze-resistant synthetic dark walnut reel insert paired with laser-engraved aluminum hardware and textured sliding bands for secure, glove-friendly adjustment. Nylon inserts in the locking nuts provide dependable reel retention even under sustained casting pressure and cold-weather conditions. Premium cork handles with cork ring accents offer consistent grip placement, while the lower grip is finished with a durable composite ball for added comfort and resilience.

Rod Tube
Cordura Rod Tube – Each Olympus rod is packaged in a durable Cordura-covered tube built to protect the rod during travel, storage, and long drives between rivers.

Warranty
As of May 2026, Redington’s Olympus Rods are covered by their original owner lifetime warranty. Redington’s original owner warranty is limited to the replacement of the rod only and it does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, or any additional type of damage caused by using the rod. This warranty also does not cover neglect, misuse, theft, fire, loss, normal wear and tear, or loss. Redington also reserves the right to replace discontinued models with newer models if necessary.
