Description
The Redington Factor Fly Reel is the successor to the long-running Redington Run, and it fixes the one thing that reel lacked: a fully sealed drag. The Factor keeps the price low and the feature list thick, with smooth stopping power for everyday fishing from small creeks to big Western tailwaters.
Design
Ported For Weight, Framed For Strength - The Factor balances airy, hard-angled porting against a full circle of structural support, so the reel stays light without going soft under load. A snag-free drag knob and a radiused reel foot keep leaders from catching mid-fight. The spool releases through a sealed O-ring press fit, so spool swaps take seconds and grit stays out of the works.
Finish
Three Colorways - The Factor comes in Black, Gunmetal and Dune. The sealed internals shed water and debris, and Redington rates the reel as corrosion resistant even in saltwater.
Materials
Die-Cast Aluminum - The frame and spool are die-cast aluminum componentry, which is how the Factor stays rigid and durable while keeping both the weight and the price down.
Drag
Type - The Factor runs a fully sealed carbon fiber disc drag with a full range of settings, from real fish-stopping muscle down to tippet-saving finesse when you are fishing 7X. The seal keeps water and debris out of the drag stack, which is what gives the system its consistency and long life.
Upgrades Over The Run - Compared to the outgoing Run, the drag adds a beefier shaft that better stabilizes the spool, and the sealed system outlasts an unsealed one in stamina and smoothness.
Arbor Size
Large Arbor - The lightweight large-arbor build picks up line faster than comparable reels, so you can keep pace when a fish turns and runs at you. The larger diameter also keeps memory out of your fly line.
Warranty
Lifetime Warranty - Redington backs the Factor with a lifetime warranty.
