Design
Refined Performance Platform – The latest Hydros has been thoughtfully updated to improve usability without changing the dependable character that made it a bestseller. A larger arbor increases retrieval speed while improving line management, and the tool-free retrieve conversion allows anglers to switch between left- and right-hand retrieve in seconds. An oversized ergonomic drag knob provides confident adjustments on the water, while an  improved overall fit and finish elevate both the look and feel of the reel.

Finish
Type II Anodized Finish – Orvis’ Hydros features a durable Type II anodized finish that protects both the frame and spool against corrosion, scratches, and everyday wear. Warranty
Orvis’ Warranty – As of June 2026, Orvis' Hydros Fly Reels are backed by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. If a reel is found to have a manufacturing defect, Orvis will repair it at no charge. For routine repairs, maintenance, or damage not related to manufacturing defects, Orvis offers individual reel service for a standard $30 handling fee plus the cost of any replacement parts required, not to exceed $50 without prior customer approval.
