Lamson Guru X HD Fly Reel

The Lamson Guru X HD Fly Reel takes the Guru X and closes the frame. The HD is a full frame reel, which means the rim wraps the spool completely so a thin running line or straight mono cannot slip into the gap between frame and spool and jam. If you fish Euro nymphing rigs, switch or Spey setups, or anything running thin diameter line, that one change is the difference between fishing and untangling.

Design

Materials

Fully Machined Aluminum - Guru X is the standard for CNC machined reel performance in this price class. Machining the frame and spool rather than casting them is what lets Lamson add rigidity and durability while holding the weight down.

Drag

Type - Guru X uses a click-stop drag with repeatable, detented settings, so you can find a setting and return to it mid-fight without looking down.

Adjustment - The larger fluted drag knob is the headline change. It is easier to grab with cold or wet hands and easier to turn accurately under load than the knob it replaces.

Arbor Size

Large Arbor - A large arbor picks line up faster per turn of the handle and keeps less memory in your fly line, which matters both when a fish runs at you and when you are stripping back for the next cast.

Warranty

Lifetime Warranty - Lamson warranties this reel against any defect in material or workmanship for the original owner, covering both parts and labor. It does not cover damage from misuse, improper maintenance, or modification, and is limited to repair or replacement at Lamson's discretion. Repair parts or colors may not match the original reel.
