Uses

Moose Body Hair makes a perfect tailing material on dry flies, wet flies, and nymphs; however, it's also a great material whenever you want to wrap a nicely segmented body.
Tip: When wrapping bodies, add a layer of head cement to aid in durability and keep things locked in.

Comparisons

There are a variety of hollow-style hairs on the tying market, ranging from deer and elk all the way to caribou. However, none are exactly like Moose Body Hair in that they can be used for tailing materials and have the length that you need to wrap segmented bodies. If you're simply looking for an alternative tailing material, Deer Body Hair is a great choice, though the coloration is a bit different than what you get with Moose Body Hair.
