Materials

Die-Cast Frame with Bar-Stock Drag Core - The frame is die-cast, which is how Greys holds the price down, but the drag core is machined bar stock. That combination is the reel's central design decision: die casting is perfectly adequate for the structure, while the drag is the component that has to hold tolerance under heat and load, so it gets the stronger, more rigid material.

Drag

Type - The Pace uses a multi-pad disc drag in an enclosed housing. Enclosing the drag improves protection from grit and water and helps long-term reliability, which is the usual failure point on reels at this price. Maximum drag runs 1.5lb on the 3/4, 2lb on the 5/6 and 7/8, and 4lb on the 9/10.

Registered reels are covered for five years from the date of original purchase, and registration must be completed with Greys within 60 days of purchase. Unregistered products are covered by a statutory 12 month warranty.
