Description
The Riversmith Euro River Quiver is the long version of the original rooftop fly rod carrier, built for rods up to 11 feet 4 inches. If you fish a 10-foot-6 or 11-foot Euro nymphing rod, a switch rod, or a shorter two-hander, the standard carrier is a foot too short and this one is the answer. Everything else is the same River Quiver: fully rigged rods ride in a lined locking tube on your roof rack, reels locked in a padded box, and you start fishing the moment you park. Pick the 2-Banger for two rods or the 4-Banger for four, in Silver or Black, with the mount included.
How It Works
The Euro is a standard River Quiver with a matching 12-inch extension coupled into the tube, which is how Riversmith builds it and how it ships. Each rod slides into its own channel with the reel attached. The reel box door swings open to the side, a hold-open hinge keeps the wind from slamming it, and a key locks the whole thing for the drive. Standard-length rods fit in it too, so a mixed quiver of a 9-foot dry fly rod and an 11-foot nymphing rod rides together.
Double-barrel tube construction - A hard aluminum outer shell takes the road abuse. A soft polypropylene inner lining keeps tips, guides and blanks from rattling against metal.
Padded, locking reel box - The reel box is molded from AES polymer with a high-security tongue-and-groove joint, so there is no seam to pry at. The included pads cradle the reels on rough roads.
Aerodynamic profile - The tube is shaped to minimize drag and wind noise, and it sits 3 3/8 to 6 inches above the crossbar depending on which mount you choose.
Choosing a Mount
Every Euro River Quiver ships with mounts and hardware. The mount you choose at checkout changes how it attaches to your rack and how easily it comes off.
- Standard Mount: The original clamp-on bracket. Fits most commercial crossbars and is the lowest-cost option. Extended bolts for crossbars thicker than 1.5 inches are included with the Euro.
- Quick Release Mount: Lever-action mounts developed with Kuat. Install, lock, unlock and remove the whole carrier in seconds, with no tools.
- LP T-Track Mount: Bolts straight into any T-track roof rack or platform and keeps the carrier as flush as possible, about 3 inches above the crossbar.
At 11 feet 6 inches overall, the Euro overhangs most vehicles front or back. Riversmith's mounting guide covers rack spacing, spoiler and lift gate clearance with the spacer kit, and low factory racks.
