Einarsson's Plus reel series is designed around performance and versatility. The series features models ranging from a 3wt through a 10wt for performance in the smallest backcountry creeks to some of the largest fish in saltwater. The reel's wide spool on the larger reels allows increased line capacity without sacrificing arbor size, and Einarsson's sealed Shock Absorbing Brake (SAB) system makes for zero startup inertia and a super smooth drag. Meticulously crafted in Iceland, the Plus Fly Reel is a choice that has everything you need whether you're chasing rising trout, chromed-out searun trout, or stalking adult tarpon in Turneffe.
Design
Versatile Design - The Plus is designed for a variety of angling situations from small trout to trophy saltwater fish. Einarsson accomplished this versatile design by building the Plus around a smooth sealed drag system that has plenty of braking power for the largest fish. The reel also boasts a Type III anodized finish for durable construction and maximum porting for lightweight performance in any scenario.
Finish
Type III Anodized Finish - Einarsson's Plus Reel sports a Type III anodized finish that adds durability and corrosion-resistance to the reel. The finishing is great for excursions in both freshwater and saltwater and protects the reel when it's dropped or dinged.
Materials
Machined 6061 T651 Aluminum - The Plus is built with aircraft-grade machined 6061 T6 Aluminum, which has a few benefits. 6061 T6 aluminum is incredibly strong, lightweight, and extremely durable. If you happen to drop or ding your reel, machined aluminum resists warping and holds its original form with strong rigidity. This type of aluminum is commonly used in aircraft and boat/automotive construction and contributes to the lightweight, durable build of the Plus.
Drag
Type - The Plus has a unique SAB (shock-absorbing brake) system that has completely removed all start-up inertia from the reel. The brake-based drag is also strong enough to stop any freshwater or saltwater fish.
Materials - The drag system on the Plus utilizes stainless steel parts that are fully saltwater proof. The disc drag system is highly efficient and smooth for ultimate performance on the water.
Arbor Size
Large Arbor - The large arbor of the Plus increases line pickup and helps anglers fight the largest fish in both freshwater and saltwater. Most contemporary fly reels are made with a large arbor design to allow anglers to pick up as much line as possible with as little work as possible.
Warranty
Einarsson Warranty - As of April 2025, the Plus Reels carry a limited lifetime warranty against defects in construction and workmanship for the original owner. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, neglect, improper maintenance or damage due to careless handling.
