The Crack Back is a PMD nymph that features a slim profile and a lifelike design to imitate a nymph that has begun the process of shedding its nymphal shuck. This fly has impeccable proportions and truly imitates a PMD nymph. Fish this fly when trout are feeding on PMDs below the surface in freshwater streams and rivers. The PMD is a popular mayfly in the western US and provides trout with food both subsurface and on the surface. This is a great little fly to fish under an indicator or as a dropper off of a dry fly during a hatch. This little nymph can also be swung to imitate an emerging mayfly. The yellow wing case is a hot spot for trout that are keying in on bugs that are splitting their nymphal casing and beginning to hatch. This is a phenomenal fly for picky trout that are looking for a genuine profile and a particular stage of bug.
