Designed for 3 through 5-weight rods, this reel is an excellent choice for trout anglers seeking a lightweight option with classic character and modern performance. From snouts rising to tricos on a spring creek to alpine blue lines and everything in between, Cortland’s Retro Click is ready for it all.

Design
Full Frame Click-Pawl Design – Cortland’s Retro X Click pairs a traditional click-pawl mechanism with a modern full-frame architecture that helps prevent thin fly lines from slipping between the spool and frame. An exposed spool provides easy palming when additional resistance is needed, while the mid-arbor design balances classic proportions with improved line management. Left- and right-hand retrieve conversion is simple, making the reel adaptable for any angler.

Finish
Anodized Aluminum Finish – Precision-machined from solid aircraft-grade barstock aluminum and protected by a durable anodized finish, the Retro X Click is built to resist corrosion, scratches, and everyday wear while maintaining a clean, understated appearance season after season.

Materials
Machined Aluminum with Carbon Fiber Frame Plate – Combining a machined aircraft-grade aluminum frame and spool with a lightweight carbon fiber frame plate, the Retro X Click brings an excellent balance of strength, rigidity, and reduced weight. The result is a refined freshwater reel that feels exceptionally light without sacrificing durability.

Drag
Adjustable Click-Pawl Drag – At the core of the Retro X Click is a finely tuned adjustable click-pawl drag that provides smooth, consistent resistance while preserving the traditional sound and feel that click-reel enthusiasts appreciate. Ideal for protecting light tippets, the simple drag system offers dependable control while allowing anglers to palm the exposed spool when additional braking pressure is needed.

Arbor Size
Mid Arbor – The mid-arbor spool sports a traditional profile with improved retrieval speed and reduced line memory compared to standard arbor designs. It provides ample backing capacity for modern 3- through 5-weight fly lines while maintaining the classic balance and appearance many trout anglers prefer.
