Cortland 444 Classic Olive Fly Line

The Cortland 444 Classic Olive Fly Line is the 444 Peach taper in a low visibility olive for anglers who want the same supple, high floating line without a bright color over the fish. Cortland built it for people who already trust the Peach and fish moderate action rods on trout streams, spring creeks and ponds where a stealthy line helps on calm water.

Best For

Trout on Moderate Action Rods - Like the Peach, the Olive is a true to weight line with a long, easy casting taper that loads fiberglass, bamboo and moderate graphite rods at short and medium range. Dry flies, small nymphs under an indicator and soft hackles all turn over cleanly.

Low Visibility Presentations - The single tone olive blends into the water and streamside cover, which matters on clear, slow pools where a bright line in the air can put fish down.

Temperature / Conditions

The 444 coating is made for cold and moderate freshwater. It stays supple in cool conditions and is not meant for tropical heat.

Taper / Weight / Design

The Olive uses the classic 444 weight forward taper: an 8ft front taper, 20ft body, 4ft back taper and 58ft of running line for a 90ft line. It is true to AFTMA weight, so size it to the rod. Available in WF3F through WF9F.

Features

Easy Casting, Ultra Supple - The line is extremely supple in hand and fast through the guides, which keeps it from coiling or hanging up on short casts.

High Floating - The coating floats high for easy mends and pickups.

Legendary Durability - The same construction that has kept the Peach in production for multiple generations of anglers, on a braided nylon multifilament core.
