While the Bead Head Lightning Bug Jig Fly doesn't imitate any single specific insect, it does a fine job functioning as a bright attractor and matching things like small mayfly nymphs and even midge larvae.

The Bead Head Lightning Bug Jig Fly is tied with a pheasant tail fiber tail, wire-ribbed flash body, dubbed thorax equipped with feather fiber legs, and is finished off with a bead and wingcase--this gives a slim profile that sinks quickly and looks like a good meal to a trout. The Bead Head Lightning Bug Jig Fly comes in a variety of colors, and it's usually a good idea to carry some natural shades as well as a few that look unnatural and stand out in the water.
