Description

The Atlas Signature 9ft 7wt Fly Rod is our go-to streamer and freshwater bass fly rod. Featuring more power than the Atlas 6wt and 8wt, the 9' 7wt is designed specifically for pairing with aggressive weight-forward fly line tapers like the Rio Outbound Short and the Scientific Anglers Titan. If you're throwing big, wind-resistant streamers and deer hair bass bugs all day, the Atlas 9' 7wt offers a powerful yet lightweight cannon that is perfectly suited for the task.

Blank

Graphene Nano-Resin - At the core of any rod is the blank. It has to be light. It has to be strong. But most importantly, it's got to be accurate. In order to make the best fly rod, we had to start with the best materials - and, today, that's graphene. Graphene is 200 times stronger than steel yet lighter than graphite.

But a great blank isn't just great materials. We spent over two years refining the design of one single line weight in order to bring you the most accurate and versatile blank ever.

Swing Weight - 74.6 gm²

Guides

REC Cerecoil Stripping Guides - The best rod starts with the best components. Cerecoil Guides are super lightweight and built with titanium to stand up to the elements.

REC Recoil Snake Guides - Like the stripping guides, at Atlas, only the best will do. We chose recoil guides for their exceptional durability and lightweight.

Reel Seat

Custom asymmetrical anodized aluminum double up-locking reel seat - To secure your reel, we chose an industry-standard double uplocking reel seat, then made it better. We oversized the rings and made the reel seat asymmetrical so you're never fumbling around to attach your reel.

Rod Tube

Powder-coated aluminum rod tube - We wanted to make sure your investment is protected, and the aluminum rod tube does just that. It also comes with a matching rod bag.

Atlas Signature 9’ 7wt Fly Rod Review

The Atlas Signature 9' 7wt is an important addition to the Atlas lineup, filling the role of a light yet powerful streamer rod for trout and a reliable tool for freshwater bass. It even has the backbone for select light saltwater uses, making it a versatile option for anglers who chase a mix of species. Like every rod in the Atlas Signature series, it offers incredible value: premium componentry and cutting-edge materials at roughly half the price of the competition. Excelente caña muy buena terminación

"Excelente caña muy buena terminación y acción! La usaré en la ventosa patagonia para pesca de truchas con streamers. Muy buena atención de Gary!"

Fabulous and Fun.

"Nothing but praise for the 9'#7. Handles a SA Bonefish smooth, beautifully. A casters rod; smooth, beautifully designed, fine fittings and great finish work. Don't let the price fool you. I love to cast and this rod puts a smile on my face."

A sexy 7 weight

"This is an excellent 7 weight rod. Casts tight loops, and has a ton of reserve power for casting large articulated streamers, while still having a ton of feel in the casting stroke. Handles a wide variety of grain weight lines. Simply put, this is one sexy rod."

Can’t wait to get on the water

"Got the Atlas 7wt and 8wt’s last week. I haven’t had the opportunity to fish them yet, but I’ve spent a lot of time in the park across the street casting them. They are really nice!!! I was shocked at the quality of the components and even the aluminum rod tubes. Not only do they look high-end, but they feel and cast that way as well. I casted a lot of rods before I pulled the trigger. I was leaning towards buying 1 pricier rod (8wt Orvis Helios) to use for both redfish and big bass flies. I just liked how the Helios cast. I’m glad I decided to take a chance on the Atlas rods. The low swing weights make both the Atlas 7wt & 8wt super easy to cast. The fast action of the Atlas rods added 10-15 feet without really changing anything about my cast. And, the Atlas rods are accurate. I’ve been hitting my target and keeping the fly line turning over in a straight line, like never before. I am beyond impressed with these rods. I would recommend them to any and everyone. I’m even thinking of replacing my 6wt Lamson with another Atlas. Cannot recommend these any more!!"

Not as fast as described

"I just bought this rod on its description of being more powerful than even the 8wt Atlas. I was planning on throwing heavy bass bugs, streamers, etc… But I find this rod incredibly slow and lacks power. I had to pair it down to 1/2 heavy 6wt bonefish line to get anything out of it. Tried the SA BASS, Rio flats pro elite, and the rod turned into a noodle. The build quality is good. But it is not a powerful fast rod like described."

Excellent

"Really nice rod. Great for casting bigger flies/streamers. Nice feel, looks great with a ton of power. Accurate at distance with enough feel. I’m super impressed and I’ll definitely buy another atlas. Hard to see how this isn’t the best value at this price point."

Outstanding 9ft 7wt.

"Bought a 9ft 7wt. Outstanding flyrod. I have close to 60 years experience flyfishing and this rod is capable of more than I can even give. I am extremely pleased with its esthetics and performance. I paired it with a Cortland Big Fly 7wt line for streamers and large top water flies for bass and trout."
