Description

Landing a frog pattern into a weedy area searching for a true sowbelly or stripping a Deceiver through the perfect run, Rio's Avid Bass Fly Line has you covered for every bass situation you find yourself in. Built to pursue bass in warm environments, Rio makes this line with an aggressive front taper that lets you punch flies into the wind while also casting those chunky articulated patterns. Whenever you need that extra few feet in your cast, Rio's SlickCast technology has you covered. An affordable option that doesn't compromise quality, Rio makes this series of lines in weights six through eight so that you can handle anything from feisty river bass to those 10+ pound largemouth.

Features

SlickCast - SlickCast is Rio's proprietary technology that massively increases your line slickness while massively decreasing your line's friction. This works to buy you that extra distance while also increasing the life of your fly line immensely. The Avid Bass Fly Line also has a high-floating construction that won't break down over time or spook fish whenever you need to quickly recast.

Uses

Poppers and Streamers - Rio's Avid Bass Fly Line has a floating construction and a powerful front taper. This design allows you to cast large and air-resistant flies like poppers and articulated streamers with ease, while also perfectly loading most rods on the market. If the bass get picky and you need to dead-drift a nymph to get bit, this line delivers that presentation just fine.

Temp

Warm - From a hot farm pond in the middle of August to a fast-flowing river, this line can handle all of the hot temps that the summer bass season brings. Whenever the bite is hot but the water hasn't quite warmed up yet, this line also works well on those early spring days.

Taper/Weight

More Mass Towards the Front of the Head - To help make those long casts and present flies that make a ten-dollar bill seem small, Rio utilizes an aggressive front taper. This 33' taper loads your rod nicely and lets you punch air-resistant flies with ease, regardless of how sporty the conditions may be.
