Description

Skinny blue lines where every cast counts or slower-moving limestone streams that require you to calculate every move before you make it, no matter what situation you find yourself in, Scientific Anglers has you covered with their Amplitude Smooth Creek Trout Line. Being a part of SA's Amplitude series gives the Smooth Creek Fly Line up to five times less drag and provides eight times the durability--good luck finding a brush-covered stream that's too tough for this one. Designed for smaller trout streams that require a little more than what your average weight forward line offers, the Smooth Creek Trout series has a solid taper formula that allows you to present heavy nymph rigs, small dry flies, and make roll cast like no other, we consider this to be exactly the combo that you need when fishing water flowing through heavily forested areas. From early-season nymphing to casting Woolly Buggers behind every rock or log you can find, the Amplitude Smooth Creek Fly Line can fish it all.

Features

SA Line ID, AST Plus, and Improved Dry Tip - When it comes to fishing, it's important to remove every bit of error you can, and Scientific Anglers' Line ID makes it easy to always grab the right line or spool. A quick identifier, SA Line ID is an integrated marking system in the first 1'-2' of the tip section that ensures you won't accidentally drive into the mountains with a 6-weight line and a 2-weight rod. Whether you're shooting line downstream to a rising fish or nymphing a tight run, Scientific Anglers' AST Plus ensures excellent durability and shootability. AST Plus is SA's new formulation of their patented dry-slick technology that's 50% slicker than their previous formula and up to 200% more durable than other lines on the market. A solid addition, AST Plus makes your line float higher, last longer, and shoot further. To keep your tip floating and prevent unnecessary missed strikes, Scientific Anglers includes its Improved Dry Tip. The Improved Dry Tip is a unique series of microballoons that makes your tip float twice as high as a standard fly line--this undoubtedly gives you an upper hand when you need to make quick hooksets.

Uses

Dry Flies, Nymphs, and Streamers - A truly versatile trout line, the Amplitude Smooth Creek can present anything from tiny nymphs and bushy dry flies all the way to large streamers. Built with a versatile taper that has more mass towards the head, you can turn to this line whether you're drowning heavy nymph rigs just after the ice melts or casting chunky terrestrials under every undercut bank you can find.

Temp

Cold/Moderate - Made to pursue trout, the Amplitude Smooth Creek Trout Fly Line is best used in cold to moderate water. This makes it a perfect choice for just about all trout situations, while also allowing you to hit those warmwater ponds and streams whenever you have bass and panfish on the brain.

Taper/Weight

More Mass Towards the Front of the Head - The Amplitude Smooth Creek Trout Fly Line has a taper that's made for small streams and tight casting conditions. Combining an extended handling section with more mass being focused towards the front of the line allows you to easily turn over heavy rigs and bulky streamers while making the roll casts that are often necessary for finding success on small streams.
