"New to the hobby, 3 months in. No mentor or guidance, I bought a rotating vise off AMZN, about $160ish. Adequate, yet even with a little experience I made note of some issues and 6 weeks later I started looking. Settled on this D-K Trekker and I love it. My apologies, I am not familiar with all the jargon but will do my best. 1st of all, this Trekker is beefy (comparatively) from the base to the tower to the arm. Which translates to stability. Big difference. Then, there is a huge improvement in overall smoothness. Not just noticeably. . . way better. Everything. The rotation, the adjustment screws, all of it. I don't hate the other one, but this one FEELs higher quality. Also, the adjustability is great, something the other lacks. Lastly, the vise jaws clamp better without constantly having to fine tune. So far, the jaws have help rock solid. Very pleased to have made this choice !"
