Orvis's own copy says rod tube, so that is what this listing states. Ask us before you order if you are counting on carrying the reel in the same case.
Warranty
An outfit is two products with two different Orvis guarantees, and the difference is worth knowing before you buy rather than after. The rod is covered by the Orvis 25-Year Guarantee, which names Clearwater specifically among the covered series. If the rod breaks, Orvis repairs it, and if it cannot be repaired they replace it with a newer model of equal or greater value, the exact model at their discretion. Coverage is for the original owner only, proof of purchase may be required, and lost or stolen rods are excluded. As of August 2026, Orvis charges a $60 operational processing fee for any rod repair, which covers materials, labor and return shipping back to you. It does not cover getting the rod to Orvis: you can add a prepaid inbound label for $12.95 to the handling fee, an option available only when you set the repair up online, or ship it yourself by a trackable and insured method. Allow four to six weeks for a graphite rod repair. The reel runs on the separate Orvis Reel Guarantee, which covers the reel for life against defects in materials and workmanship, with anything a repair specialist judges to be a defect fixed free of charge.
