The Parachute Cahill is tied to imitate Light Cahill Mayflies, and with its parachute style, it's a fly that sits right in the surface film, just like the freshly-emerged naturals. Offering a very close imitation to the real Light Cahil, this fly has a cream tail and hackle, light yellow dubbed body, and a white calf hair wing for visibility and buoyancy.
With the Light Cahill being one of the premier hatches of the summer, this is a fly that you'll want to carry from the middle of May until about August. And while it's an excellent imitation for Light Cahills, it can also match other mayflies like the Grey Fox and White Mayfly if you find yourself in an unexpected hatch, so carrying sizes 12-16 is a good idea. Fish it when you see cream-colored mayflies and match the size to the naturals, and the Light Cahill Dry Fly can catch fish whether you're in a still pool or a fast run.
