The Colorado LT was a small stream favorite click-and-pawl reel from Ross. They’ve gone back to the drawing board and improved it (drastically) with the all-new Ross Colorado. This reel is lighter than ever and still features a click-and-pawl drag system, but features some important upgrades that are sure to make it an even more popular reel. Small stream anglers take note.
Semi-Caged Frame, Unidirectional Click-and-Pawl - Ross rebuilt the popular Colorado LT into a more practical design that features a semi-caged design and an even lighter frame than before. Of course, they’ve included the click-and-pawl drag system from the first iteration, but have built in a Vesconite bushing for an even smoother system.
Type II Anodizing - The rebuild of the Colorado LT is fully anodized, which helps it stand up to dings and scrapes on the water.
6061 T6 Aluminum - The Colorado is built with 6061 T6 Aluminum, which has a few benefits. 6061 T6 is both abrasion-resistant and corrosion-resistant. If you happen to drop or ding your reel, 6061 T6 resists corrosion even when abraded. This type of aluminum is commonly used in aircraft and boat/automotive construction.
Type - The Colorado functions on a click/pawl mechanism. The click and pawl drag is perfect for small water trout fishing and has a classic outgoing sound that makes it loads of fun to fish.
Materials - The drag mechanism is made with an all-metal design and features a stainless steel pawl, gear, and spring. The stainless steel construction of the drag system keeps it durable and high-performing for years of freshwater performance. This reel is also built with a Vesconite bushing for a uniquely smooth feel.
Large Arbor - The large arbor of the Colorado increases line pickup and helps anglers fight freshwater fish on a single-handed fly rod. The large arbor design increases retrieval rates and allows anglers to gain more line on small stream trout to direct them away from strainers and into the net.
Ross Limited Lifetime Warranty - As of October 2020, Ross has a limited lifetime warranty that applies to the original owner of the fly reel. The warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the product only and does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, or any other type of damage resulting from the use of the product. That being said, Ross will also repair your reel for you for a cost.
