This vast, 1.3 million-acre catch-and-release fishery is within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, a UNESCO heritage site protected from commercial fishing. Avid anglers, novices, and non-angling companions will all enjoy the lodge's luxurious amenities and unparalleled service.
Who's It For?
Access to Ascension Bay’s legendary flats
Grand Slam Fishing Lodge sits on the edge of Ascension Bay within the protected Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. From the lodge beach, anglers quickly reach miles of turtle grass flats, mangrove lagoons, and channels that provide world-class sight fishing opportunities.
True Grand Slam potential
Ascension Bay is one of the best places in the world to pursue the saltwater “Grand Slam” of Permit, Bonefish, and Tarpon in a single day. With large numbers of Bonefish, consistent Permit shots, and both resident and migratory Tarpon, anglers often have opportunities at multiple species during the same tide cycle.
Experienced two-guide system
Each panga fishes two anglers with both a senior and junior guide on board. This system provides more eyes scanning for fish, quicker rod changes when multiple species appear, and a smoother experience whether you are casting from the boat or stepping out to wade the flats.
Comfortable beachfront lodge setting
Grand Slam Lodge combines serious flats fishing with comfortable accommodations along a secluded Caribbean beach. Guests stay in spacious ocean-view rooms and gather in the main lodge for cocktails and fresh Mexican cuisine after a day on the water.

One of the most consistent fishing windows of the year. Stable spring weather and warming water bring excellent opportunities for Permit and Bonefish. Migratory Tarpon begin arriving in the bay toward the end of this period.
Peak migratory Tarpon season with large fish moving through Ascension Bay and nearby channels. Permit and Bonefish remain readily available across the flats. Warm weather and occasional afternoon showers are common.
Productive fall fishing with fewer anglers on the water. Early fall can still offer shots at migratory Tarpon before they taper off. Permit and Bonefish fishing remains strong, though this period overlaps with the Caribbean hurricane season.
