Description
The Saltwater Monoclear line from Royal Wulff is designed for Bonefish, Tarpon, and other spooky flats fish. The fully-clear color scheme and intermediate makeup of this line make it a great choice for crab flies, shrimp flies, and small baitfish flies. This is a solid fly line choice for the flats of Mexico, Florida, and even the east coast of the US when Stripers push up on a sandy beach to eat crabs, eels, and small baitfish. The technical angler will definitely appreciate this fly line on his/her next flats fishing trip.
Features
J3 Coating, Clear Color Scheme - Royal Wulff's J3 Coating causes the line to sink more evenly, shoot farther, and repel water for ultimate performance. The slick coating has a 'dry feel' which helps minimize friction through the guides and increases the life of the line. The line's durability and dirt-repelling capabilities can also be attributed to this coating. The intermediate version of this line comes in a Clear color scheme for enhanced stealth on the tropical saltwater flats. This line sinks at 1.25-1.75 inches per second.
Uses
Delicate Presentations, Bonefish and More - This is a line that's designed for delicacy and made for spooky fish in a flats fishing environment. Whether you're targeting Bonefish, Permit, or Tarpon, this is a line that will help you make accurate presentations with a variety of flies to a variety of species. A continuous forward line taper means this line transfers casting energy from the rod to the fly with ease and is a great line choice in windy conditions. Use the intermediate version to target fish in water that's 5-10 feet deep.
Temp
Warm/Tropical - This line is built for tropical climates. The Triangle Taper Monoclear works best in water temps and air temps that are warm or tropical and the fly line is designed for maximum performance in a flats/skiff scenario. That being said, it can also be used in moderate climates for Stripers during the summer months in New England.
Taper/Weight
Continuous Forward Taper - The Monoclear features a 30-foot head for ultimate versatility. Unlike any other line, it features a continuous front taper which means the heaviest part of the head is at the rear and the lightest is in the forward part of the line. This taper promotes wide-ranging performance from small Bonefish flies to larger streamers and everything in between.
