Description
The Triangle Taper Intermediate is a freshwater line that combines everything we love about the Triangle Taper with the benefits of a slow-sinking fly line. This is great for swinging soft hackles, fishing small streamers to Bass, or targeting Panfish on your favorite pond. The continuous front taper makes roll casting this line easy and efficient and it's truly one of the most practical intermediate lines in freshwater. If you're getting out on a small stream or a lake this season, consider the RW Triangle Taper Intermediate to target those fish in the middle of the water column.
Features
J3 Coating - Royal Wulff's J3 Coating causes the line to float higher, shoot farther, and repel water for ultimate performance. The slick coating has a 'dry feel' which helps minimize friction through the guides and increases the life of the line. The line's durability and dirt-repelling capabilities can also be attributed to this coating. The intermediate version of this line is available in a blue/green color for ultimate stealth in any freshwater setting.
Uses
Presentation-Based Casting, Freshwater - Need to deliver that streamer to a specific spot on the river? Trying to land a popper right next to a dock for Bass? The Triangle Taper Intermediate is designed with accuracy in mind. With a continuous front taper, energy transfers beautifully down the line for ultimate responsiveness. It's a line that's easy to cast overhead and works well when roll casting on brushy creeks with minimal false casting room. Use this line for a variety of freshwater species from Bass to Carp to Trout and everything in between.
Temp
Cold/Moderate - This line is made to be used in cold and moderate climates including freshwater scenarios in the Northeast, Northwest, and almost any coldwater freshwater climate. It's a line that can be used on larger freshwater fish including Trout, Bass, Pike, or Carp. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn't meant to be used in high heat.
Taper/Weight
Continuous Forward Taper - The head of the Triangle Taper intermediate is 30 feet. Unlike any other line, it features a continuous front taper which means the heaviest part of the head is at the rear and the lightest is in the forward part of the line. This taper promotes wide-ranging performance from small streamers to larger flies and everything in between. The intermediate line sinks at 1.25-1.75 inches per second.
