The Thunder Thighs is an irresistible hopper pattern with a thunderous profile that's designed to be slapped down on the water during the later summer months wherever hoppers are present. Skate it, twitch it, dead drift it, and watch fish eat it with reckless abandon. The body of the Thunder Thighs is 100% foam, as any hopper should be. The fly also features rubber legs, a synthetic wing, and a long shank hook. As you've probably guessed, this is a trout fly designed for fishing in rivers, streams, lakes, and freshwater environments. This isn't a saltwater fly and should be used only when targeting trout that are feeding on the surface or fish that are likely to rise for a large meal.

One of the Best Hoppers

"This short, stubby hopper works extremely well on small streams and larger rivers in the western US during August and September. The lifelike profile and rubber legs add an important dimension to this fly that helps fish commit after it hits the surface. This is a great pattern for spring creeks, too, when pounding undercut banks."
