"Christened this rod with a PB 100lb tarpon brought to hand in 30 mins, water depth 115ft. Couldn't be happier with it's performance."
The Atlas 8'6" 11wt is the perfect rod for a multitude of fishing scenarios from Tarpon and Trevally to Muskies and trophy Pike. We've spent the past decade casting, fishing, reviewing, and selling high-end fly rods from virtually every manufacturer out there. And while those products are great, our customers kept asking us for a rod that could do it all. One that would work for both tropical saltwater trips and on their home waters, but we couldn't find a single rod on the market that could do both... until we cast the Atlas.
GrapheneNano-Resin - At the core of any rod is the blank. It has to be light. It has to be strong. But most importantly, it's got to be accurate. In order to make the BEST fly rod, we had to start with the best materials - and, today, that's graphene. Graphene is 200 times stronger than steel and exceptionally lightweight.
But a great blank isn't just great materials. We spent over two years refining the design of one single line weight in order to bring you the most accurate and versatile blank ever.
Swing Weight - 81.9 gm^2
REC Cerecoil Stripping Guides- The best rod starts with the best components. Cerecoil Guides are super lightweight and built with nickel-titanium alloy and ceramic rings to stand up to the elements.
REC Recoil Snake guides- Like the stripping guides, at Atlas, only the best will do. We chose recoil guides for their exceptional durability and lightweight.
Custom asymmetrical anodized aluminum double up-locking reel seat - to secure your reel, we chose an industry-standard double uplocking reel seat, then made it better. We oversized the rings and made the reel seat asymmetrical so you're never fumbling around to attach your reel.
Powder-coated aluminum rod tube- We wanted to make sure your investment is protected, and the aluminum rod tube does just that. It also comes with a matching rod bag.

"This is my 3rd Atlas Rod. Bought this one for two heavy freshwater purposes - throwing x-large pike & musky streamers from a boat and tight quarter Fall king salmon fishing in small Michigan rivers. Paired it with a Lamson Litespeed M10. Makes a really light outfit. I’ve only test cast it, but I’m really impressed with the action and quality."
"Paired it with a 11wt Rio GT line and took it land based GT fishing on Astove. . . uncasted. First cast put the fly two feet in front of the first fish spotted, got the grab, and the fish was landed. Ended that day of wade fishing landing four out of the five or six shots. I'm still kind of a newbe at and working to figure out line management while wading in the salt. However, I do distinctly remember feeling that larger stripping guides would have helped shoot more line on one shot. It didn't come to mind any other time during the trip or since. I should mention that my guide picked up the outfit, cast it, and said he really liked it. Even though it probably was not the right line, I took the same setup to Belize for Tarpon. Rod casts well from the front of a boat. Managed a couple 25-35 lb Tarpon fairly easily without any rod concerns. My guide took the outfit wade fishing and reported that he really liked it. I seriously regret not watching him to learn how he manages line while wade fishing. The rod is very light in hand and turns repetitive casting an 11wt from something to be dreaded into something that is not only possible but almost enjoyable. I would highly recommend the rod to anyone harboring concerns about having what it takes to cast heavier 11/12 wt outfits. . . or to anyone who just wants to make it easier. Given the experience level of the two guides that cast the outfit and them both saying unsolicited, that they liked the rod, I am pretty confident that most at the pro level will also find this rod to their liking."
"Took my Atlas Signature 8ft 6in 11wt to Magdalena Bay, Mexico, for offshore pelagics. Caught 2 Striped Marlins along with a dozen Dorados and Tunas. This rod proved tremendous strength and lifting power, while I saw a couple (other brands) 12wt and 13wt rods break. Perfect action for pulling out heavy sinking line and rapidly casting extra large saltwater flies."
"Same features such as stripping guides, reel seat, cork , aluminum rod case as my $1000 dollar rod. The rod is easy to cast with a lot of power, I paired the rod with RIO Tarpon fly line and a Tibor Riptide reel. This will not be the last atlas rod that I own,"
"I really like this rod , casts much better than my previous 11 wt and is significantly lighter"
