Squirmy Wormy Fly

Originally created by David Hise from North Carolina, the Squirmy Wormy is an excellent imitation for both aquatic and terrestrial worms, and with just about all freshwater fish-loving worms, this fly is a safe bet whether you're fishing a stocked stream or a tailwater filled with picky browns.

Tied with a rubber body, this fly has tons of action and wiggles when in the water and is an effective choice whether you're fishing it as an attractor or imitating garden hackle after a harsh rainstorm. A great fly to have on hand in sizes 10 and 12 in a few different colors, with blood-red and tan being the most popular, this fly works great on its own or in a multi-nymph rig.
