Description

The Simms G3 Guide Wader Pants balance breathable comfort with serious leg-level toughness, so you stay dry without feeling like you are wearing a plastic bag. Built as stockingfoot wader pants, they give you full waterproof coverage where you need it while keeping bulk down for hiking, rock-hopping, and climbing into tight water. They are the kind of “grab and go” option that makes sense when full chest waders feel like too much, but wet wading is not on the table.

Features

Gore-Tex Pro Lamination Package - These pants use an updated Gore-Tex Pro build with a 3-layer upper and a 4-layer lower. The lighter 3-layer upper helps reduce bulk and keeps the top of the pants moving with you when you are stepping high or scrambling over boulders. The 4-layer lower adds extra puncture and abrasion resistance where wader pants take the most hits, including knees, shins, and the lower leg. That layup matters on brushy banks and rocky rivers because it helps the legs last longer without making the whole garment feel stiff. The waterproof breathable construction also helps dump heat during long hikes to the next run, so you do not get that clammy feel that comes with less breathable fabrics.

Closure, Belt, and Waist Security - A double snap closure locks down the waist, and the TIZIP waterproof fly zipper adds convenience without giving up waterproof protection. Built-in, low-profile belt loops keep the included 2-inch stretch wading belt positioned where it should be. The belt is wide enough to feel stable and supportive around the waist, and it also adds a key layer of safety when you are wading deeper water. Because these are pants, the fit stays clean and simple, and you do not have shoulder straps to adjust or manage.

Suspension System

These are wader pants, so there is no shoulder-strap harness to manage. Instead, the fit is stabilized at the waist with a secure double snap closure and an included 2-inch stretch wading belt that stays in place with low-profile belt loops. This keeps the setup clean for hiking and layered clothing, and it reduces pressure points that can come from straps when you are bending and moving all day. Down at the feet, the anatomically engineered neoprene stockingfeet are shaped for left and right, which cuts down on bunching inside your wading boots. The anti-microbial finish helps manage odor during long trips and repeated use.

Why We Like It

The Simms G3 Guide Wader Pants stand out because they deliver true Gore-Tex Pro performance in a lower-profile package built for mobility. The 3-layer upper keeps them from feeling bulky when you are hiking or hopping rocks, while the 4-layer lower brings the extra toughness you want when rivers get sharp and unforgiving. The waterproof fly zipper is a real quality-of-life upgrade on long days, and the included stretch wading belt keeps the fit stable without feeling restrictive. Add in built-in gravel guards for lower-leg protection, and you get a setup that is dialed for anglers who move a lot and fish hard.

Other Features

The patented front and back leg seam design is more than a comfort detail, it helps protect the waders by reducing stress in common failure areas when you take long steps and kneel on uneven ground. The built-in patented gravel guards add another layer of protection at the boot line, helping reduce wear from sand, silt, and repeated boot contact. The overall design is focused on staying light, staying mobile, and staying dry when you would rather not wear full bib waders.

Great when wet wading is just not there yet

"I fish a lot of water where the waist length waders is just right. It keeps me warm when the water is just a bit too cold to wet wade, but keeps me from getting too warm if the sun comes out."

Wonderfully overpriced.

"Love the product , excellent in every way except DRAMATICALLY overpriced. Price point would be better served and highly profitable in the 250-300 $ range."

Awesome

"I own this wader, along with the G3 Guides, G4s, and G4Zs (see my other reviews). I fish mostly large streams and small rivers. These waders probably have more miles on them than all of the rest combined. They are so light and comfortable, easy to get on and off, bomb proof, great warranty. Simms make less expensive waist waders, but in this case the price difference is not enough to cheap out. This should be a second set of waders for most people, as we all start with chest waders it seems. But once you try these they will quickly be your go to wader especially in the summer months. Plus they take up way less room in your pack than chest waders"

Simms Durability

"Perfect wader for the Midwest where our streams are not as deep."
