Description

Designed for those of us who never take the two-handers out of their rotation, Scientific Anglers' Spey Lite Scandi Heads are the ultimate addition to your trout spey and other lightweight two-handed applications (though, these heads can be used for the single-handers as well). A short head that's built with a long front taper, the Spey Lite Scandi Head is made for soft presentations that require a bit of finesse--swinging soft hackles and streamers to drifting dry flies, this Scandi Head does it all. Whether you're seeking out aggressive smallmouth or picking off the slow-risers at the tailout of your favorite pool, the Spey Lite Scandi Heads have a grain weight and length for it all.

Features

SA Line ID and Advanced Shooting Technology - When you get to a fresh run and need to swap out your head, Scientific Angler's SA Line ID makes it nice and easy to pick the winner. SA Line ID is an integrated identification system at the top 1'-2' of your line that allows you to quickly identify your heads. And to ensure that you're getting the most out of every cast, Scientific Anglers equips this line with their Advanced Shooting Technology (AST), which is a patented dry-slick technology that provides slick shooting while repelling grime, dirt, and other particles that your line encounters.

Uses

Streamers, Nymphs, Dry Flies, and Wet Flies - Scientific Anglers made their Spey Lite Scandi Heads for quick casting, easy line control, and soft presentations. This means that it's a reliable choice for presenting streamers, nymphs, wet flies, and even dry flies. A versatile Scandi Head, the Spey Lite allows you to fish a variety of conditions and fly patterns.

Temp

Cold/Moderate - Scientific Anglers made their Spey Lite Scandi Heads for fishing cold to moderate waters. This makes it a great choice whether you're casting to trout or bass, but if you get it into a tropical situation, you'll notice that the line will go limp.

Taper/Weight

Long Front Taper - Made to deliver soft presentations and present most flies in your box, Scientific Anglers equips their Spey Lite Scandi Head with a long front taper. This long front taper allows you to softly land flies while making quick casts and maximizing line control. A versatile taper, the Spey Lite Scandi Head can do anything from swing streamers to drift dry flies with ease.

I bought a 210 grain

"I bought a 210 grain Scandi head to go with 30 lb test Lazar running line for my 9'6" single handed 5 wt rod. The two work very well together to make Scandi casting very easy with my single handed 5 wt rod."

Best lighter grain heads

"The Spey lite series are some of the best heads out there, especially for those that use them on single hand rods. I have a few, ranging from 150grains to 390grains. Bummed they discontinued the 150 grain option in Scandi and Skagit."
