"Only used it once so far but it was nice casting small dries and nymphs."
The floating version of Royal Wulff's notorious Triangle Taper comes in a variety of sizes from a 2wt through a 9wt. This line is extremely popular in freshwater angling scenarios because of its unique taper design. The head of this line features one continuous taper for ultimate energy transfer during both overhead casting and roll casting. This is a wonderfully delicate fly line that's great for small flies and light presentations, but also works well in a nymphing setting when roll casting capabilities are needed.
J3 Coating, Multiple Color Options - Royal Wulff's J3 Coating causes the line to float higher, shoot farther, and repel water for ultimate performance. The slick coating has a 'dry feel' which helps minimize friction through the guides and increases the life of the line. The line's durability and dirt-repelling capabilities can also be attributed to this coating. The floating version of this line is available in Olive, Ivory, or Orange, so you can either be stealthy in your approach or choose a highly visible line.
Delicate Presentations, Roll Casting - The Triangle Taper offers award-winning performance with a unique taper design built for delicate presentations and roll casting at short ranges. The continuous forward taper allows highly efficient energy transfer throughout the cast and industry-leading roll casting abilities. The majority of the weight of the fly line is away from the fly, which leads to the line's superb delicacy and ideal performance for dry fly fishing.
Cold/Moderate - This line is made to be used in cold and moderate climates, including freshwater streams and rivers, lakes, and almost any climate. This line is built with a supple coldwater core and coating that keeps it stiff and durable in cold water. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn't meant to be used in high heat.
Continuous Forward Taper - The head of the Triangle Taper ranges from 27 feet to 40 feet, depending on the line size you choose. Unlike any other line, it features a continuous front taper, which means the heaviest part of the head is at the rear and the lightest is in the forward part of the line. This taper promotes wide-ranging performance from nymphing to dry fly fishing and everything in between.

"In the summer, it’s hard to beat a bonefish taper. When it gets colder, and carp hug deeper pockets against the shoreline on the river, or cloop on the surface for whatever is on the menu that day, nothing beats this line. Delicacy and distance is all that can be said!! With the right stick, rollcasting 50ft is nothing to lay it back out there."
"Used this in 2wt on my 3wt rods for several years on the Arkansas River tailwater, CO. The long fine front taper works well short with wighted flies because it minimizes sag and wind resistance, then longer with unweighted flies it has the mass to get the rods working. A beautiful, durable line. Maybe better than a euronymphing line for multipurpose?"
"Great fly line. Just what I was looking for. Good price also."
"I have used wf4, 5, and 6 and they cast beautifully. I have also tried the ivory, orange, and olive. The olive is difficult for me to see on the stream, so that will be used for quiet water. If you call your product Royal Wulff it better be superior, which I believe it is indeed."
"The Wulff Triangle taper is an excellent fly line for delicate presentations as well as easy roll casts. The line is also very slick and casts well for distance. I would highly recommend this fly line to anyone. I like the line so well that this is my second purchase, the last line lasted over 10 years of constant use."
"The Wulff Triangle taper is an excellent fly line. It works extremely well for roll casts and is nice and slick for distance casting. This is my 2nd purchase. The last line lasted over 10 years. Highly recommend."
"Purchased a number of lines to review for use as a Fly Fishers International Exam and teaching line. I have settled on the Wulff as best all around in bright orange."
"I use this line on my Sage Circa when the mayfly hatches are in full swing. It allows for the most delicate presentations, and is especially effective rollcasting when you have no room for a back cast on smaller streams."
"Great site, great price and great responsiveness if question. What more to say than... great! Hopefully delivery will be on time but already impatient to use my TT5F. Thank you Trident Fly fishing"
