"Good quality, light weight."
Redington's new die-cast reel, the RUN, features a lightweight frame and spool but packs a punch in the carbon fiber disc drag system. This is a reel that's built for the angler who needs a lightweight reel but doesn't want to sacrifice drag strength. The reel's drag is smooth and efficient to help you wrangle the largest fish in freshwater and some of the feistiest fish in salt. Whether you're chasing trout in Colorado or small Bonefish in Mexico, the RUN has the features to get the job done, fish after fish.
Durable, Lightweight Build - The RUN is designed for increased durability and support without adding too much overall weight to the reel. The reel marries the lightweight design capabilities of a die-cast reel with a high-performance carbon fiber drag system to give anglers the best of both worlds at an affordable price point. The ported arbor build durability and the die-cast aluminum keeps the reel lightweight and functional. This is a great option for freshwater fish and smaller saltwater applications.
Three Color Finish - The RUN is built on die-cast construction and comes in three different sizes and three different colors. The RUN is available in Burgundy, Black, and Sand color schemes perfect for small water trout fishing and larger freshwater and saltwater fish. The reel's construction and finish contribute to its lightweight performance.
Die-Cast Aluminum - The RUN is built from die-cast aluminum. This aluminum is a lightweight, affordable alternative to machining and is part of the reason the RUN is so the lightest reel in its price range. Redington also uses twin molded, soft-touch ergonomic handles on the RUN. Every reel comes with a nylon reel case.
Type - The RUN has a compact carbon fiber drag system. This means the drag system is smooth, powerful, and reliable in all types of environments. Unlike other die-cast reels in this price range, the RUN offers a heavy-duty drag that punches above its weight.
Materials - The drag system on the RUN is made with carbon fiber discs that increase the drag strength of the reel and increase the durability and longevity of the drag system. These materials are the perfect combination of decreased weight and increased reliability.
Large Arbor - The large arbor of the RUN increases line pickup and helps anglers efficiently fight trout and other freshwater fish. The spool is great for small trout lines or larger freshwater bass lines. Anglers also don't have to worry about where line lands on the reel when playing a fish because of the arbor design.
Redington Warranty - As of June 2020, every new reel is covered by a warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Reels are also covered by a lifetime, original owner warranty. The warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the reel only and does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, incidental or any other type of damage.

"Love the service and offerings from Trident Fly Fishing. I live in Virginia which has some pretty good shops too but my favorite by far is this shop in Maine. I also really enjoy the Redington Run series reels. Very reasonably priced and highly functional for my fly fishing and Euronymphing needs."
"Delivered on time and very professional advice during purchase."
"I had ended up with the Lamson liquid 9+ This only comes in a 7/8 and needed the bigger spool. You may ask why I am writing this review? The Atlantic Salmon shop said this reel is excellent. It has the same drag as the behemoth, and it is lighter. I just needed the 9/10. The rise spools can be used on this."
"I ordered a Sage Trout LL along with this. I know for some that would be a sin to get that expensive of a rod and this cheap of reel. I’m normally a Ross Reel kinda guy but it just wasn’t in the cards right now. I had Redington stuff when I first started fishing and it all held up very well and was passed down, and is still going! I knew that it would be worth the risk to on this, worst case it would go on my buddy rod. Okay now on to the reel itself:Pros The burgundy color is really really nice looking, very clean but also very classic. Very light and balances out a light rod very well. Sound of the reel going in and out is very nice! Smooth drag, which was surprising for this price. Cons The finish, while a nice color, isn’t super high quality. It came with some scuffs and scratches (nothing horrible)I do worry about the long term durability but I know that it’s covered by Redington’s warranty. At the end of the day I think it’s a great reel for the price!"
