Snook fishing under dock lights at night can be incredibly productive and tons of fun in Florida and other southern states in the US. The Midnight Minnow is a great nighttime pattern for Snook and other species feeding on small baitfish in saltwater. Tied on a strong saltwater hook, the Midnight Minnow features a white body, green coloring, pearl flash, red eyes, and a red hot spot. The red shows up really well in dock lights, and the flash makes this fly visible well after the sun goes down. The baitfish profile pushes a lot of water to attract predatory ambush feeders in a variety of saltwater settings. Though it's called the Midnight Minnow, this is also a great general baitfish pattern when targeting predatory fish, including baby Tarpon and others, during the day. While designed to be fished in a tropical setting, this is also a great Striper fly in the northeast and along the east coast of the US.

General Baitfish

"Baitfish patterns are invaluable when targeting fish in a saltwater setting. This particular pattern is a good general-purpose fly that works really well when targeting Snook on dock lights. The flash stands out well at night but also works during the day in mangrove environments."
