Description

Super easy to apply, quick drying, and ready to secure anything from thread wraps to a multi-fiber wingcase, Hareline Hard As Hull Head Cement is a necessary element to every fly tyer's desk. Hareline's Hard As Hull Head Cement is a durable head cement made with acrylic copolymers that dries nice and hard and can be worked into any pattern to increase durability. Equipped with a brush applicator, Hard As Hull Head Cement makes for easy application, while a threaded seal allows you to bring it on the road without bringing the mess.

Uses

While most use Hareline's Hard As Hull Head Cement to coat the final thread wraps of their fly, it's a versatile head cement with multiple uses. A great way to increase durability, Hareline's Hard As Hull Head Cement can be applied before wrapping materials such as the chenille used in a Wooly Bugger, and it can also be used to secure classic streamer heads and increase the durability of wingcases on nymphs. Pretty much anytime you want to enhance durability, Hareline's Hard As Hull Head Cement is a quick way to do so.

Comparisons

A common item in fly tying, head cements are a universal material, and Hareline's Hard As Hull Head Cement is similar enough to Loon's Thin Water-Based Head Cement. Both of these are head cements and can be used to increase durability and strengthen the bond between materials, but Loon's head cement is water-based, while Hard As Hull has an acrylic copolymer composition.

Example Flies

Hareline's Hard As Hull Head Cement can be worked into literally any fly you're tying. From nymphs, dry flies, streamers, and emergers to saltwater patterns like crabs, large baitfish, shrimp, squid, and more, this is a material that can be used for it all.

Hairline head cement

"This is some good cement. It penetrates enough to keep the thread glued without having to use a ton. I just use a toothpick of thebend of the bodkin to apply a very small amount. It does dry extremely fast so you wont have to wait long for it to cure. But also dont take forever to apply it."
