Uses

Patterns and Tying Techniques - Typically, Bleached Elk Hair is used for wings and tails on dry flies. Because the hair is hollow it has natural buoyancy built-in. It can be flared to create upright wings on dry flies or used as a tailing material on dry flies. Bleached Elk Hair can be substituted wherever hair such as deer hair or Mule deer hair is called for.
