Description

For the angler who loves exploration as much as catching fish, G. Loomis’ IMX-PRO Creek Rod is the ultimate choice. G. Loomis built their IMX-PRO Creek Rods for those small waterways that just might hold the fish of a lifetime--you know, those ones that require a hike in and hours spent investigating maps. Loomis made their IMX-PRO C Rods with a moderate action in line weights 2-4, all of which are 7’9” to make for short loading and easy casting when in a tight squeeze. Handcrafted in Woodland, Washington, the IMX-PRO Creek Fly Rods are the ideal tool whenever your day requires crawling through rhododendron, bow and arrow casting, and boulder hopping. From feisty brookies picking off dry flies to deep-living carnivorous brown trout that need a large Wooly Bugger, this rod is the perfect tool for it all.

Blank

Conduit Core Technology - G. Loomis crafts their IMX-PRO Creek Fly Rods with a lightweight feel and a design that’s compact enough for tight streams while still giving just enough power to tackle the real brutes of these tiny waterways. In starting things off with their Conduit Core Technology, G. Loomis removes excess wraps of graphite and replaces them with a proprietary material that’s equally as strong yet considerably more lightweight. Conduit Core Technology also requires less energy to move the rod, which increases overall efficiency. The fun doesn’t end there either, as Loomis builds this rod with their Multi-Taper Design. The Multi-Taper Design is essentially a series of “micro tapers” within the build of the rod that adds a little extra material to potential break points and a little less material everywhere else--think of it as the perfect balance between reliable strength and a light feel. Whether you’re sinking nymphs into plunge pools or drifting an Elk Hair Caddis, this blank allows you to do it all with ease.

To increase stealth when in these small stream settings with spooky trout, G. Loomis makes this rod with a black color and accents it with black thread wraps.

Guides

Chrome Stripper Guides - To further maintain that lightweight feel and casting performance, G. Loomis outfits the blank with Chrome Stripper Guides. This choice in guides makes for an ultralight feel as well as solid and consistent line speed that makes casting a breeze.

Chrome Single-Foot Guides - A great choice to further cut weight and provide easy line shooting, G. Loomis outfits their IMX-PRO C rods with Chrome Single-Foot Guides.

Reel Seat

Custom Matte Aluminum Reel Seat - A reel seat that both provides balance and a super lightweight feel, G. Loomis equips their IMX-PRO Creek Rods with a dual-uplocking custom Matte Aluminum Reel Seat. This reel seat provides a lightweight feel while resisting corrosion and remaining durable--this makes it an excellent choice for navigating those small blue lines that can often be so tough on your gear. G. Loomis also integrates a weighted fighting butt so that you can drive the power home should you get into one of those true small stream giants.

Rod Tube

Tube and Cloth Bag - Tethering it onto your backpack for a week spent in the woods or just tossing it under the passenger seat of your car, no matter where you’re taking the IMX-PRO Creek Fly Rod, it’s sure to be safe with G. Loomis’ Tube and Cloth Rod Bag.

Warranty
As of June 2021, G. Loomis has a Limited Lifetime Warranty against non-conformities in workmanship and materials for the life of the original owner. Should you have an issue in workmanship or materials, G. Loomis will repair or replace your rod at no cost to you. Now, should you break your rod due to neglect, normal wear and tear, misuse, abuse, alteration, or accidental damage, your rod will be replaced or repaired for a specific fee--the fee is determined by G. Loomis and may vary.

G. Loomis IMX-Pro Creek Fly Rod Review

As larger rivers continue to suffer from overcrowding, more anglers are seeking refuge by opting to explore smaller water. While the fish are generally eager to rise to a well-presented dry fly, creek fishing offers unique challenges. The standard 9ft 5wt trout rod is too long, bulky, and overpowering for most small stream situations. G. Loomis designed the IMX-Pro Creek specifically to meet the challenges creek anglers face.

Gordy (5/5)

Phenomenal rod

"Light, powerful and accurate casting, The 3 weight is an amazing rod,"

Billy M. (5/5)

Great rod

"The reviews I read before buying this rod were spot on. This is an easy casting rod with a medium fast action. You can get some pretty good distance out of fit if you need. Casts off the tip very well. It’s not as fun as glass when you’re catching small creek fish but I think it’s more versatile. The price point isn’t cheap per se, but I think the rod value exceeds the price, and of course it’s made in the USA, so it’s got that going for it, which is nice"
