McFlyfoam vs Hareline Polypropylene Floating Yarn - Both products are made of similar materials. McFlyfoam will sink when not treated and is available in more colors.
Patterns - McFlyfoam is most frequently used for egg patterns like the Glo Bug. It can also be used for parachute posts on dry flies like the Adams. The McCrab Fly is a saltwater crab pattern tied using McFlyfoam.
Approximate Dimensions - Individual fibers are roughly 6 inches in length.
