The Radiation Baetis is a PMD nymph pattern tied by Umpqua Signature Tyer Shea Gunkel. This small nymph features bright colors that are visible to trout feeding in a variety of water depths and a lifelike profile that matches the size of naturals in the water. A small mayfly tail, a segmented body, and two small wings with a colorful wing case create a small fly that isn't just bright colors. The colors, however, do help fish key in on the small mayfly nymph and encourage them to commit fully and quickly to feeding on it. Like any small mayfly pattern, however, fish can't see this fly well in muddy water so for best results, use it on clear water days or in tailwaters or spring creeks. This little fly is built on one of the strongest hooks in existence, which helps you land a fish after it's hooked. This is a fly that's ideal for a double nymph rig, tightline techniques, or a dry-dropper setup.
