Great line especially for the price

One of the most popular fly lines for many years now, the Scientific Anglers Mastery MPX line provides the ultimate in freshwater and light saltwater versatility. A redesign of the popular Scientific Anglers GPX fly line, this line is built as a do-it-all freshwater line great for lakes, streams, rivers, and more. What's better? The line's taper and design cater to a variety of angling methods including streamer fishing, dry fly fishing, and heavy nymphing. If you're looking for the most well-rounded, versatile line on the market, you've come to the right place.
SA Line ID and AST - AST stands for Advanced Shooting Technology. The Mastery MPX from SA has superb shooting capabilities and allows anglers to quickly cast any fly from a boat or from the bank. The line also features a couple of different color schemes for anglers who prefer to choose their line color. SA has also included an easily identifiable line ID so you can quickly tell which line you're fishing when changing spools.
Large Dries, Nymphs, Streamers - The MPX is designed as a freshwater trout line. SA made this line for larger dry flies, heavy nymphs, and even small-medium sized streamers. This line is also great for picking up large dries from a drift boat or streamers on the lake and quickly recasting/ shooting line. This isn't the best line for small dry fly presentations, small creek fishing, or slow action rods (fiberglass, bamboo, etc.). It's also not a great line if you're trying to carry a lot of line in the air to land a fly on a dinner plate at 60-feet.
Cold/Moderate - This line is made to be used in a variety of conditions including freshwater streams and rivers, lakes almost any climate. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn't meant to be used in high heat.
More Mass Toward the Front of the Head - Built a half-size heavy, the Mastery MPX line has a short front taper. The MPX taper is built to load fast-action rods for power and accuracy at distance. Most of the line's mass is found in the first 20-feet of the head and the head is shorter and heavier than other dry fly specific lines (36-foot head length on the WF5F version). This helps anglers quickly load fast-action rods and shoot line at longer distancesÉ think quick shots with larger dry flies from a drift boat.

"Very easy to cast. I've since upgraded to the Amplitude infinity which I have liked better, but wouldnt hesitate to recommend the MPX for easy casting and learning"
"Honestly surprised me. I can't say I've had a better line on my 5wt reel. I can cast twice the distance with this line and boy is she smooth."
"I haven’t tested it out yet due to cold and wind but I’m ready to roll out and try later this week so it warms up:)"
"This fly line is perfect for my intended use, which is to teach my 10-year-old grandson to fly fish. I’m not surprised it’s perfect because the trident folks tested out the rod I plan to give him with this line and others to make sure it was a good line for a beginner. Couldn’t be happier with Trident or the fly line!"
"Very fast delivery. The box arrived intact and everything was there as ordered."
"The team at Trident are 2 nd to none ! They helped me find the right fly rod on line and being from a small town where I don’t have access to check them out . They were very thorough and put in the time to figure out where I wanted to upgrade ! Thank you I know I ended up canceling a few orders until we talked ! Brent"
"This line casted effortlessly on my NRX LP and made that rod even more fun to cast. Even used it on an old Redington Crosswater and it felt like a whole new rod that casted 10 times better. This line is a half size heavy and really likes fast action rods. I tried it on a slower action Lamiglas and I was not impressed. I prefer this taper over the old GPX taper. Feels like it loads a little better in my style of casting."
