Developed sometime between the late 1930s and early 1940s in Monterey, California, by Doug Prince, the appropriately named Prince Nymph is a fly with popularity that has spread from the West Coast all across the globe. This nymph was created to imitate immature stoneflies found in swift water; however, it was soon discovered that the Prince Nymph could also imitate a range of aquatic insects, including various mayfly and damselfly nymphs. However, the Prince Nymph, with its bold peacock body and white wings, has really been proven to shine as an attractor nymph whenever you're just not sure what the fish are keyed in on.

Effective in a range of sizes from 8 all the way down to 20, the Prince Nymph was made to excel in moving water and is a productive fly to fish underneath of an indicator, high-sticked, or even stripped upstream; however, that doesn't mean that the Prince Nymph won't catch fish in stillwater all the same. Whether it's your point fly in a multi-nymph rig or just your go-to nymph that's packed with confidence, the Prince Nymph should have a dedicated spot in all of our nymphing boxes.

Sizes Available:

10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20
