A solid choice for imitating Grass and Sand Shrimp on saltwater flats or in a tidal river, the EP Spawning Shrimp Fly provides realism and a semi-translucent appearance that closely matches the real thing. The EP Spawning Shrimp is tied with bead chain eyes, an EP Fiber body, EP Eyes, a short bunch of orange EP to match spawning shrimp, and is equipped with a weed guard so that you can make those long casts into the mangroves without fear.
You can fish the EP Spawning Shrimp on a sinking, intermediate, or floating line depending on the water at hand, and a short strip retrieve is effective. While shrimp vary in size and color depending on the time of year and area you're fishing, common sizes to have on hand are 6-1/0 and tan is a color that should be prioritized.
