A fly rod that’s straight to the point with no added fluff yet maintains everything that you need for a successful and fun day on the water, TFO’s new Signature III Fly Rod is an everyman(or woman)’s rod that’s ready for whatever you put in its path. Piggybacking off of their popular Signature series and integrating the power of their Tough Fly Rod, the Signature III series comes together with a moderate action that provides smooth casting, reliable accuracy, and just the right amount of strength where you need it most. Built around a two-piece design, this rod simplifies things and increases sensitivity while decreasing potential disconnectivity, and whether you’re a well-seasoned angler or a beginner that’s just getting started, you’re sure to appreciate the convenience and affordable pricetag offered in the Signature III. And although the Signature III comes in well under the $200 mark, it doesn’t mean that build quality or componentry is sacrificed–a black anodized aluminum reel seat (with a carbon insert on weights 2 through 6) meets a composite cork handle equipped with sharp accents to provide function and aesthetics that stand the test of time. Available in ten different models ranging from a 6’ 2-weight to a 9’ 10-weight, the Signature III has an option whether you’re looking to hone your skills on a pond packed with panfish or want to dive into the world of saltwater without spending a week’s paycheck.
Blank
Graphite Construction - Timeless and reliable, TFO utilizes a lightweight and durable graphite construction on the blank of their Signature III Rod. This rod has a moderate action that allows beginners to feel the flex of the rod while casting in order to increase performance, while those who have been casting for decades are sure to love the responsive feedback found in this blank.
The Signature III also has a dark green translucent finish that adds a subtle appearance that looks at home whether you’re on a clear spring creek casting terrestrials or a muddy warmwater river throwing articulated streamers at trophy fish.
Guides
Standard-Sized Stripping and Snake Guides - In order to keep the costs low without compromising performance, the Signature III utilizes standard-sized stripping and snake guides. These guides allow your line to shoot smoothly whether you’re tossing streamers across the river or making those up-close shots at the run directly in front of you, and their construction ensures years of hard use without failure.
Reel Seat
Anodized Aluminum Reel Seat - Built to be lightweight and crafted with a focus on durability over a range of water styles, TFO’s Signature III features a black Anodized Aluminum Reel Seat. This choice allows you to fish hard in both salt and freshwater, while its single up-locking design sheds weight while keeping things locked in all day long.
Rod Tube
With such an affordable price, TFO does not include a tube with the Signature III. However, it does include a rod sock for moderately safe storage.
Warranty
As of July 2023, TFO offers a warranty that covers defects in material and workmanship. Should you break or damage your rod due to an accident or typical wear and tear, TFO offers repair or a replacement for a fee. TFO also offers replacement sections at a fee for a faster alternative.
