Scott Fly Rods has partnered with Naoki Hashimoto of Hokkaido, Japan to create one of the finest split cane bamboo rods on the market, the Scott SC. The SC combines history, craftsmanship, and contemporary bamboo technology. Made with the finest components including figured amboyna burl wood, handmade ferrule plugs, and the finest cork, this rod is a work of art and a legitimate angling tool. If you’re shopping for the finest bamboo rod on the planet, the Scott SC may just be the rod you’re looking for.
Triple Heat Treated Design - The cane of the SC is flamed three times for optimal balance and construction. This process creates a rod blank that boasts great line recovery speeds, incredible sensitivity, unique action, and ultimate castability. The three-piece blank design accents the rod taper perfectly to highlight the rod’s unique construction process.
Hollow Construction and Hand Tapered - The SC’s hand-constructed design is evident in the rod blank. Hashimoto makes the ferrules and ferrule plugs by hand and tapers the rod with equal craftsmanship and care. The blank is completely hollow to minimize weight and is made from the finest bamboo.
Stripping Guide with Agate Insert - The agate stripping guide allows a light line to shoot through the guides of the SC effortlessly. Agate adds durability and artful aesthetic to the SC.
Nickel Silver Snake Guides - Nickel Silver Snake guides add to the functionality and durability of the SC Series. Snake guides feature radius feet, corrosion resistant design, and an artful nickel silver finish to help fly line move effortlessly on the rod. These guides also contribute to the rod’s superior line control capabilities and the ability to form sweet loops at close distances.
Figured Amboyna Burl Wood and Blued Nickel Silver - The craftsmanship and attention to detail on this rod manifest in the reel seat and rod handle. The reel seat is truly a work of art; figured amboyna burl wood fills the seat while a blued nickel silver downlocking component accents the rod’s style nicely. The grip is made from premium cork and features a modified cigar-grip design.
Aluminum Rod Tube - The SC comes with the same ultra-durable aluminum rod tube that comes with all high-end Scott Rods. The tube will protect your investment in any situation.
Scott Lifetime Warranty - The Scott SC, like all Scott fly rods, is covered by the Scott Lifetime Warranty, which covers the rod for the life of the original owner. As of July 2015, the cost of these repairs is $50 and the turnaround time is about 4 weeks. Rods must be registered within 30 days of purchase to qualify for the warranty.
