When long-distance casts with two-hand rods are exactly what you need, Scientific Anglers guides you there with their Textured Shooting Line. Available in two sizes (.032” and .035”), this shooting line is equally ready for trout spey action as well as swinging flies to aggressive steelhead. The Textured Shooting Line is super easy to handle, resists troublesome tangles, and gives a solid connection to your fly while swinging through runs, and the addition of large 8-inch loops makes for clean head changing all day long. A great choice whether you’re swinging up trout on a large tailwater or drifting bold flies through winter runs in hopes of connecting with steelhead, Scientific Anglers’ Textured Shooting Line is a pleasure to handle and it’ll have you reaching those far targets with ease.

Features

SA Line ID, Advanced Shooting Technology, and Shooting Texture - Designed to make long casts both easy and achievable, Scientific Anglers equips their Textured Shooting Line with their Advanced Shooting Technology (AST) and their Shooting Texture. A solid combination of techs that makes casting a breeze, AST is a patented dry-slick technology that gives continual line slickness while reducing grime, dirt, and other buildup on your line. And to make a line that lasts longer, floats, higher, and casts easier, Scientific Anglers adds their Shooting Texture, which is a series of hemispherical divots that has less texture feel on the surface while maintaining all of the benefits of a textured line. And finally, to prevent the jam-up that occurs when you grab the wrong shooting line, the Textured Shooting Lines are outfitted with SA’s Line ID tech, which is an integrated identification system found at the first 1’-2’ tip of the line.

Uses

Streamers, Wet Flies, and Dry Flies - Since the Textured Shooting Line is simply the shooting line in your system, the flies that you’ll get to fish are largely dependent on your choice of head. However, this shooting line has the ability to present anything from a large dry fly to a chunky streamer.

Temp

Cold/Moderate - Made for both trout spey and swinging flies to steelhead and salmon, this line performs best in cold to moderate temperatures. A great choice whether you’re swinging flies to trout or smallmouth bass, this line can handle warmer temps, but should you get it in a truly tropic scenario, it will get soft and turn limp.

Taper/Weight

Flat Construction with Handling Section - Designed as a shooting line, the Textured Shooting Line doesn’t have a specific taper. However, it’s slightly more complex than other shooting lines in that it has an integrated handling section.
